The house was built in 1882 by station master Samuel York. It is a place connected to Blacktown Native Institution – 1823-1833 where Dharug and other Aboriginal children were forcibly removed from their families.

Wallgrove Creek Public School was located here ins 1871. It was renamed Eastern Creek Public School in 1931. Aboriginal stone artefacts have been found in this area.

Annie Forsyth Wyatt, who lead the movement to establish the National Trust, New South Wales branch lived at Fairholme in the late 1880s. The place contains archaeology culturally significant to Dharug people.
