The church opened in 1891. It is now known as is now known as the Hope at the Hill Presbyterian Church. There isa cemetery where Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people have been paid to rest.

St Bartholomew’s Church was the first church to open in Prospect in 1841. The church sits on Warlumi clan country and member of the Boorooberongal Dharug clan were buried here. In 1805 a peace meeting between local clans and settlers seen as an act of reconciliation was organised by local Dharug women and a free settler John Kennedy.
