The School of Arts, locating in Rooty Hill Road South, was built by the residents for community activities. The foundation stone was laid November 1, 1902, by Miss Angus, daughter of James Angus. It is heritage listed.

The Shire of Blacktown was created by Local Government Act of 1906 with the first Council meeting held at the Rooty Hill School of Arts,

First aircraft crash in Australia occured along the railway line between Mt Druitt and Rooty Hill
1939-1944

Wallgrove Army Base was an Australian Army camp and base used as a staging and training area during World War II. This area gradually became known as Eastern Creek.
1950
1950
Wallgrove Migrant Hostel officially opened to house refugees from Eastern Europe. In the 1960s, migrants from Britain and western Europe began their lives in Australia here.

The original Rooty Hill RSL club opened with 127 members.
